Prevent, Manage, Recover: Key Strategies to Execute a Business Continuity Plan

To maintain business operations in a business environment hit by the coronavirus and rife with global uncertainty, every enterprise needs a plan. A Business Continuity Plan (“BCP”) is the set of procedures and processes used in the event of a business interruption to maintain company operations until the supply chain returns to “normal” state. With almost 40 years as an executive at P&G, Larry Williams has spent his career transforming the people, processes, and solutions needed to drive a Best-in-Class P2P operation within a Shared Services environment.

Listen this session to hear Larry explain how to execute a BCP across its three phases: (1) Prevent (2) Manage (3) Recover so that a P2P operation can Be Constantly Prepared.

This session is recommended for professionals in procurement, supply chain, accounts payable, and those working in either shared services or general business operations. VIEW ON-DEMAND.

A New World (of) Orders: Rethinking the Global Supply Chain

As a leading procurement executive (CPO) in the pharmaceutical industry, Gregg Brandyberry led the charge on global sourcing into China and India in the 1990s and early 2000s. This presentation will look at how today’s global supply chains developed in the aftermath of this first wave of activity and what procurement leaders should be thinking about given the current disruption and uncertainty that pervades the market.

This presentation is ideal for Sourcing and Supply Chain leaders as well as any procurement and P2P staffers that interact with international suppliers in any way, shape or form…VIEW ON-DEMAND.

Guarding Against Increased Cyber-Risk in the Age of COVID19

This session will focus on the technology risks created by the COVID-19 pandemic and how to protect against them.

If managing spend is valuable exercise (it is! – Ardent’s research has quantified this in multiple research studies over the years), managing the team that manage the is even more valuable. With the vast majority of supply management professionals working in an entirely new workspace –  their homes (most large procurement teams, like most of the corporate world), we need to make sure that the teams remain active and productive. With a newly remote workforce, there are a huge number of issues that managers must tackle for the first time.

In a discussion relevant for every business dealing with a newly remote workforce and/or a global supply chain, leading global cyber-security expert, Dr. Marcus K. Rogers, Ph.D., CISSP, CCCI, DFCP, will share his views and strategies on what supply management leaders can do to better understand and manage these risks.

Attendees will hear Dr. Rogers answer the following questions:

Maximizing Spend Management with AP Automation and Data

In today’s new work environment, collaboration between business functions has become more difficult, but it has also become more necessary. Ardent Partners research has shown that the benefits of AP automation and data can extend well beyond process and efficiency improvements gained from eliminating paper and manual, labor-intensive tasks. AP departments that take an active role in spend management drive more business value to their organizations and are more respected overall.

Join Ardent Partners’ research director, Bob Cohen, and special guest, Dan Reeve of Esker, on a webinar moderated by Andrew Bartolini, that focuses on the key strategies used by Best-in-Class organizations to track spend, improve supplier management, increase compliance and convert AP data into real value…VIEW ON-DEMAND.

What the Pandemic Means for Your Workforce

While the impact of the global pandemic cuts across all business functions, none has been more severely hit than the workforce. For the past few weeks, Christopher J. Dwyer, Ardent’s VP of Research and the host of the Contingent Workforce Weekly podcast, has been interviewing talent managers, contingent workforce management leaders, and CWM technology executives on the short- and long-term ramifications of the current global crisis. Join us to learn what the pandemic means for the global workforce and how businesses should structure their talent strategies for uncertain times…VIEW ON-DEMAND.

The “work from anywhere” mindset is not a new concept, however, the current pandemic has necessitated that the vast majority of the world’s businesses support a remote work infrastructure as social distancing and shelter-at-home orders remain in place. Operating under this new normal can be difficult for business leaders seeking to effectively manage their teams in a virtual environment. Join workforce and Future of Work expert, Christopher J. Dwyer, and special guest Christy Schumann, VP of Talent Operations from Toptal as they unveil the three pillars for managing a remote team and share best practices and solutions for thriving in this new, digital dynamic. CPO Rising 2020: Continuity, Resilience, Recovery

In an instant, Chief Procurement Officers and procurement leaders around the world are facing an entirely new set of challenges, accelerated by a global pandemic that has disrupted an interconnected business world and its supply chain. Once again, CPOs have been called to the front lines to defend their businesses, lead their teams, and ensure continuity. Attacks and threats are coming from all angles. But, the challenges of each day present opportunities within them. And, as we continue to navigate these disruptive days, it is clear that many of an enterprise’s best opportunities (and most critical priorities) will play to the strengths and expertise of its procurement department. Until then, resiliency is the order of the day. It is the global imperative and it serves as a call to procurement leaders and professionals around the world to respond with agility and poise – a call that many have spent years preparing for… a call that will be answered.

The fifteenth annual CPO-themed study is part of an ongoing dialogue that Ardent Partners’ analysts have had with CPOs and other procurement leaders for more than a decade. The annual study examines the general competencies and capabilities of procurement organizations today and highlights the management strategies and tactics that leading CPOs use to get the most from their teams. It also presents a comprehensive, industry-wide view into what is happening in the world of procurement and captures the experience, performance, perspective, and intentions of more than 300 CPOs and other procurement executives. This webinar will include benchmark statistics, analysis, and recommendations that procurement teams can use to better understand the state of procurement today, gain insight into best practices, benchmark their performance against the Best-in-Class, and ultimately improve their operations and performance.

CFO Leadership in the Time of Coronavirus

The Coronavirus is taking no prisoners leaving families, communities, regions, and countries in its wake. The economic impact has also been deep and far-reaching. Supply chains across all industries have been disrupted, while most customer demand has dissipated, if not completely disappeared. The immediate future is uncertain and the mid-range is entirely unknown. The tough times are here again.
